22 Awards. Two Schools. One Great Year.

Our second season at GARSEF is done, and the numbers speak for themselves. Sommer Elementary and Brushy Creek Elementary sent students to the Greater Austin Regional Science & Engineering Fair — and they showed up.

Between the two schools, Science Stars students walked away with 22 awards, including 17 first-place ribbons and a special award from Earth Day Austin. Here's the full breakdown.

Seventeen first-place ribbons across two schools, and one special award from Earth Day Austin recognizing Elodie Ambriz's project on how kindness affects plant growth. Projects ranged from robotics and magnetic levitation to water filtration and AI — a genuinely impressive range for elementary students.
